Halloween – What you need to know about Vampires

Halloween is a great holiday with so many myths, legends and other fantastic stories surrounding goblins, ghouls, ghosts and other assorted monsters.   Of course, the classic vampire is still one of my favorites.   Do you believe in vampires?    Most people have heard stories that garlic can keep away vampires, but here’s just a little history.

For years and even today, cultures around the world considered garlic to have many favorable properties.  Not only as a tasty food, but also, garlic is believed to hold some medicinal properties among other uses that originated years ago.   As far as vampires however, according to tradition, various methods including presenting garlic can be used to ward against vampires.    This technique can be dated back to Eastern Europe where vampires were believed to be afraid of garlic.   A common theory is that perhaps this has something to do with the idea that garlic can be used to get rid of many insects and mosquito bites….and maybe yes, vampire bites too !

So, if this is true, how did our ancestors keep the smell of garlic under control?   Charcoal perhaps?  If you are inclined to follow in the footsteps of legend, make sure you keep plenty of garlic around.   And today, there is a better way to help keep the odor under control….until you really need it.   Make sure you have a supply of FRIDGE IT activated charcoal odor absorbers in your refrigerator, closet and cabinets.

Vampires and Garlic

On  a lighter note –

Vampires seem to be back in popularity again, so I thought this would be a good time to discover a bit more about Vampires and why the relationship with garlic.

The idea of drinking blood to be immortal is a concept that has been around for centuries.  Drinking someone else’s blood has been thought of as obtaining the “life blood” of someone else.    Vampires are entities that are able to maintain immortality by sucking or drinking the blood from humans.   As the legend goes, they are nocturnal creatures and the sunlight turns them into dust.      It’s sometimes difficult to seperate the myths from legends and literature and now, with the popularity of the Twilight series, vampires seemingly are more popular than ever.

History of Vampires and Garlic

So, what’s the relationship between Vampires and garlic?  For years, cultures around the world considered garlic to have some very effective medicinal properties. In fact today, garlic is considered extremely beneficial for your health.  But also, garlic has been a weapon to ward of evil.    As far as Vampires, according to some traditions, garlic is an effective method to protect against vampires.  Originating centuries ago in Eastern Europe, it was well thought that garlic would ward off vampires, believing that the undead had a great fear of garlic.    Today, many believe that this has something to do with the idea that garlic can actually be used to get rid of other blood sucking creatures such as many insects including mosquitos.

So, what do vampires and garlic have to do with odor eliminators.  Well, whether you believe in vampires or not, garlic is a very popular food and it’s very common to find fresh cloves of garlic in kitchens and refrigerators around the world.   That’s where Fridge IT comes in.  These powerful cube shaped activated charcoal odor eliminators will help make sure that unless you really are trying to keep away vampires, the odor from the garlic will always be under control.    Also available in a convenient flat wafer size, Fridge It activated charcoal odor absorbers are the 21st century solution to even the worse refrigerator odors including pungent garlic odor.   Ideal not only for the refrigerator and freezer, but Fridge IT controls and eliminates odor in drawers, cabinets, closets, under sinks, near trash and so much more.    Looking for a better, natural refrigerator deodorizer – Please visit us at Innofresh web site or click on this link to go directly to our shopping cart full of values ShopInnofresh
